Cull

by Gladys Flippin

For many years the Cull brothers, Wesley and Leslie (twins), were known by many people on White River. They lived on a houseboat which they parked at Pace's Ferry when they were not going up and down the river selling their wares. They made chairs, rocking chairs, paddles, and various articles of furniture.

In the early 1930's they could be seen in Cotter delivering their rockers, for which there seemed to be a great demand. The rockers sold for $5 each and were used by many people. The workmanship was excellent.

Those days are past! When has a houseboat been seen on White River?
