: I have gone through all the material posted and love what you are doing. I am a History Buff and it is of special importance to me to read all of this and see the pictures. I think that you people are doing an excellent job. Is this a particular class or grade or is everyone that is interested in this type of thing involved regardless of what year in school? I will be checking back regularly for updates. Is it alright to forward some of this material to friends around the country? Please respond if possible. Thanks again. Ray Baumbach-----Gassville
Hi--
The South Shore Memory Project is a group of students in Flippin, AR, telling the story of where they live in the Ozark Mountains. They do it using digital still cameras, digital video cameras, scanners, digital recorders, and more. The kids created the website all on their own. I direct the library at Arkansas State University Mountain Home and started the project in the Fall of 1998 with the help of Ms. Pershall, the media specialist at Flippin, H.S., and Ms. Wade, Gifted and Talented Coordinator. It has grown a lot and this Fall it includes several new teachers and students. By next Spring you should see a lot of new biographies and historical essays on the website. We are archiving all of the raw data on CD-Rs and storing them in a fireproof cabinet for future generations. Thanks for stoppying by!
